Matthew Rhys, Adam Driver, Sarah Goldberg and Anastasia Griffith will star in the Roundabout Theatre Company's upcoming production of John Osborne's Look Back in Anger. Directed by Sam Gold, the revival begins performances on January 13, 2012, at off-Broadway's Laura Pels Theatre. Opening night is set for February 2.
Look Back in Anger is a shocking and vibrant drama about four people struggling to live together and love each other in 1950s England. The play premiered in 1956 at the Royal Court Theatre in London and opened on Broadway the following year, earning a Tony nomination for Best Play. The Roundabout Theatre Company previously staged a revival of Look Back in Anger in 1980.
Best known for his work on TV's Brothers & Sisters, Rhys (who will play the central role of Jimmy Porter) has appeared on the West End in The Graduate. His many films include Patagonia, The Edge of Love, Love and Other Disasters, Very Annie Mary and Peaches.
Driver (Cliff) currently stars in the Roundabout's Broadway mounting of Man and Boy and appeared in Mrs. Warren's Profession last season. His off-Broadway work includes Angels in America, The Retributionists and The Forest. Goldberg (Alison Porter) earned an Olivier Award nomination earlier this year for the West End production of Clybourne Park. Her London stage credits include Six Degrees of Separation, Ice-Cream and The Member of the Wedding. Griffith (Helena) has appeared on TV's Damages, Trauma and Royal Pains. She will have a recurring role on the upcoming series Once Upon a Time this fall.
The production will feature scenic design by Andrew Lieberman, costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Mark Barton and sound design by Bray Poor.
